In a fast-changing world, now even more due to the health emergency we have just experienced, BNP Paribas Cardif aims to accelerate its innovation path, already traced by the vision and commitment of a leader in the insurance industry, to best prevent, support and protect people and the community.
In order to face the digital challenge of the Group’s insurance Company, Open-F@b, the international Call4Ideas, was launched in 2014, supported by the InsuranceUp project (the first Italian insurtech website) and opened to all innovators.
The exceptional situation experienced with the pandemic has changed our risk perception and increased the people’s need for care and protection. Our lifestyle has changed too, along with our approach to work and mobility. We are therefore talking about a “new normality”, a mixture of changes and opportunities where digital technologies are becoming increasingly important in our daily lives.
As a result of this exceptional situation, BNP Paribas Cardif has devoted the 2020 edition of Open-F@b Call4Ideas to the “Next Normal”, while searching for innovative ideas, products and solutions in order to go beyond the emergency and meet the new needs that have arisen and will continue to do so in the new lifestyles and priorities.
The main purpose consists in collecting applications coming from startups, scaleups, innovative companies or students in order to start a mutual collaboration project with the R&D team of BNP Paribas Cardif. We are looking for solutions offering new business models that meet the upcoming needs in different areas, following the three main guidelines that have a significant social impact: to encourage a relevant and lasting recovery, to move towards a sustainable development model and to release the Country’s best energies.
Open-F@b Call4Ideas, now in its seventh edition, is the opportunity for all innovators to undertake a consolidated Open Innovation path aimed at combining insurance skills, services and technology to improve the quality of people’s life. The winners will be supported by BNP Paribas Cardif R&D team in the development and the implementation of their projects, bearing in mind the needs of the market and the Company itself.
The finalists will also gain a relevant international visibility: in fact, they will be presented to the C Entrepreneurs Fund, BNP Paribas Cardif venture capital fund that, together with Cathay Innovation, has the aim to accelerate the Company’s innovation through early-stage start-up investments, and will be included in the Open Innovation Scoop platform of the BNP Paribas Group’s International Financial Services hub, used within the Group to share, manage and promote cooperation with startups.
